A little about me…

  • I was born and raised in Southern California. I grew up in Palmdale, where I participated in various community activities and school events. Some of my best memories were based on my involvement with my local 4-H Club and FFA Chapter. Throughout my involvement in both 4-H and FFA, I held many leadership roles and raised and showed livestock at the Antelope Valley Fair. This allowed me to find my passion of working with animals and teaching individuals.
  • I graduated from Littlerock High School in June of 2001 and moved to San Luis Obispo to attend Cal Poly State University. I majored in Animal Science with a minor in Veterinary Medicine as I originally planned to pursue a career as a Veterinarian.  I graduated Cal Poly, SLO in 2005 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science. After working for a Veterinarian for 5 years I realized I enjoyed working with students so much, that I re-enrolled in Cal Poly’s Masters program. In 2009 I graduated from Cal Poly once again, but this time with my Masters in Agriculture Education.
  • In 2007 I was hired by Linden Unified School District, where I worked for 10 years as an Agriculture Teacher. While at Linden I taught classes such as Agriculture Science, Integrated Science, Biology, Horticulture, and Floriculture. I enjoyed being an Agriculture Advisor and I love this great Youth Leadership Organization.
  • I am excited to be a part of the El Portal Middle School Staff. I love science and have enjoyed sharing my passion with the students of the Escalon community. I have two boys of my own, who keep me and my husband busy with school, sports and fun with the family.
