About Me

I grew up in Manteca, where I attended McParland Elementary from Kindergarten through 8th Grade and East Union High School.  I first started playing trumpet in the fifth grade band at McParland, and I decided in high school that I wanted to teach music.  I have a Bachelor of Music from CSU Long Beach and a Master of Arts from the American Band College, a summer extension program of Sam Houston State that holds classes in Ashland, Oregon.  My education in music has led to many unique and exciting experiences from performing in Disneyland’s “A Christmas Fantasy” parade to performing with musical greats such as Doc Severinsen, Bobby Shew, Allen Vizzutti, Lalo Davila, Patrick Sheridan, and the Canadian Brass.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Jackie, and our daughter, Darcie.  We enjoy travelling, Geocaching, hanging out with friends and family, binge-watching shows on Netflix, and attending baseball games (Let’s Go Oakland!).  I also continue to play music as much as possible, playing trumpet in our church’s orchestra, as well as local musical groups.
