Hello! My name is Martha Yost and I teach 6th through 8th grade Special Education classes. As a child of a military family, I was born in Norfolk, VA and experienced life and culture in other places such as the Philippine Islands. I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Behavioral Sciences at Chico State, my Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential from National University and my Educational Specialist Credential (Mild/Moderate) at IMPACT (Teacher’s College of San Joaquin County. When I am not grading papers and planning lessons, I enjoy traveling, gardening and singing with the church worship team. I have been married for 18 years and have two children – Tyler (23 years old) and Faith (15 years old). I had the unique experience of teaching general education for 10 years as a 5th and 6th grade teacher before becoming an Educational Specialist. Wearing two hats has given me a broad and special perspective on a child’s ability to learn and overcome obstacles. I believe every child should have an opportunity to do their personal best.
