Mission, Vision and Values

El Portal Middle School’s student population is approximately 650 6th through 8th grade students serving a predominantly rural/agricultural community.  El Portal began as a 5th through 8th grade school in 1970.

Students from four K-5 district elementary schools – Collegeville, Dent, Farmington and Van Allen – feed into our school.

Vision

Through our collective commitments, we will embody a culture of continuous improvement as we prepare all students for success in high school. 

Values/Collective Commitment:

Collaboration - We work together to ensure all students learn at high levels.

Celebration - We recognize achievement on our campus for both students and staff consistently.

Guaranteed curriculum - We teach the guaranteed curriculum to all students.

Formative assessments - We utilize frequent formative assessments to monitor student growth toward learning targets and to direct instruction and student support.

Relationship - We establish connections in an effort to further success.
