OPTIONAL End of Year Zoom with Student Symbolism Showcase!

I cannot believe we've reached the last week of school! I'm so proud of the stamina and grit that many of you have displayed throughout the year, but especially during this distance learning period of time. WAY TO GO, PANTHERS! :)

I'd love if you could and would join our us for an end of the year celebration Zoom! I will be sharing the Student Symbolism Showcase of your artwork from last week. Some of your talent (both with artwork and with words) blows me away!

DL Wk 4: Characterization & Characterization in "The Outsiders"

This week's focus is on characterization. We will be doing the following:

1. In the attached PowerPoint, you will learn about direct and indirect characterization, and how to identify character traits. There is a LOT of information inside of that PowerPoint, so please take your time to go through it.

2. Once you are done with the above, you will go over Chapters 1 and 2 in "The Outsiders" to analyze the character of Dallas Winston.
In order to do this, I've attached 3 things:

A) a PDF containing LOTS of character trait words
B) the excerpts about Dally from Ch 1 and 2 in case you don't have your novel
C) "Characterization Analysis Assignment for Dallas Winston" - a work page where you are going to complete the assignment for the week

3. When you have finished the work page, "Characterization Analysis Assignment for Dallas Winston", you will need to submit it here in our Google Classroom so that I can provide feedback and score it. :)

If the above is confusing, please watch my Week 4 Direct Instruction attached below where I explain all of this. :)
